So I have an edelbrock 1406 (i know i know) that sits in my 88 w250hd, because the motor sits back at a small angle it causes this... I want to call it a metal hook, that is linked to the secondaries and controlled by the electronic choke. Once the choke opens up it supposed to release this "hook" and allow the secondaries to be able to open... but like I said because of the angle of the motor relative to being parallel to the ground and my nemesis gravity, it's been looking my secondaries. I removed it. And now my secondaries open when ever I want them too. Is this bad for the carb, and or should I just consider "shaving" it a bit?

I usually leave them off...when I do carb work for my own vehicle's. Not bad for the carb but having the secondaries open while having a cold engine could be.

Okay so warm up first, let choke do its job and them drive. Sounds great.
