I took a load of junk to the scrap yard today. Some old /6 parts, front suspension, leaf springs, sheet metal, household junk, old pistons, trashed /6 radiator, and two big bags of alum. cans. I was guessing about $35.00 for all of it. Ended up with over 600 lbs. of steel/iron. Walked out with $102.00!!! Talk about a big smile. Will put half in the car fund coffee. The rest for general spending.
A great Labor Day weekend to all!
Mike

I did the same thing today!! Took a bunch of tomato cages, some wire dog pens, a bunch of stuff my neighbor gave me, and the lift out of our old van! Took 5 starters and 2 alternators, and a couple electric motors! Thought I had about $40...$105!!! Wheatland, here we come!!!

The scrap gods were smiling down upon us today, yes??? Enjoy your weekend, and your newfound booty!!! Geof

That's funny. I removed a furnace from my house and took it to the scraper and got $5.60

Clearly it must not have weighed that much. I had to cut it apart to get it out of the crawl space and it felt heavy.

Congratulations on the sale.

Scrap steel is going for twelve cents here.

Yeah it fluctuates tween like 9-15 bucks per hundred pounds here.

a buddy of mine did that onces, it was at a big company so they have you pull your truck on the scales and weigh it
then when it is emptied out they weigh it again and pay you the difference

I guess the guy behind him pulled up to far so his front wheels were on the scale when they weighed the truck the first time

he made out like a bandit

Trying bringing in copper! I redid my plumbing in my house and tore out all the copper and replaced it with plastic. I got $195.00 for the copper pipes from my house. No wonder people are breaking into houses and stealing the copper pipes and wire.
