First of all: thank you so much to the many FABO members who have helped me with the project and my endless stream of probably simple-minded questions. The learning process is sometimes full of hard lessons but you guys have been huge.

1) throttle cable
2) throttle cable mounting bracket?
3) kickdown linkage
So now I've got the Edelbrock 1406 on the Performer intake in place. But the existing throttle cable feels too tight and, because the new carb is higher and wider than the old (2bbl BBD), its low bracket causes the cable to be angled up and out toward the carb the in a way I don't like the looks of. This is made wider by the Chrysler adapter bracket the instructions required to bolt onto the side of the carb.
And I'd like to rectify the kickdown linkage. Someone once mentioned that I could do away with the old one and get something more modern but no more details.
What have you all done with the cables, brackets, and linkages when you swap out carburetors?
I'm not one who can easily fabricate metal parts, by the way.
Thanks again!
