Can someone please illustrate the proper method for adjusting a the throttle kickdown for a 727. I was having a issue with the tranny holding 2nd gear longer than it should be. So, I called a transmission shop and the guy told me that the throttle kickdown does something with the pressure in the tranny. So, if anybody could draw a diagram from the carb down to the tranny that would be great.

It is mechanical. What does shortening mean? Putting it closer to carb thottle linkage? I'll try and take a look at the service manual.

download that 72 service manual. goto pages 21-81, 21-82, 21-83. it explains it all to you.

That was great. I found the issue. I'm missing the return spring for the linkage, so the kickdown was never fully pulled forward it was just in between. The spring should fix the problem. Thanks
