i have a 68 dart ,i need a radio,i found a site that will convert the dart radio for 385 ....will make it am/fm.. i want it to work and not just fill the opening in the dash.i dont have any radio as of yet ....any ideas on the cheapest way and keep it looking stock?and work? i seen one not working on ebay 25 bucks ...then 385 to fix it i would have 410 plus shipping if i did this??any ideas appreciated, thanks

Too much dough for an AM/FM conversion if you are providing the radio. Also they can make provisions to connect to XM/serius, and other external devices.

Look here for other automobile radio repair outfits:

I have a good used one from a 69 Dart bench tested playing good all the controls work and it has a new bulb

If you have an original thumbwheel that works, I say leave it as is. This is what I used:

http://www.rediscoveradio.com/

It's called the RediRad, goes in between the antenna and your radio, and allows you to plug any device into the auxiliary jack and play through the radio. Installation couldn't be simpler, took me about 15 minutes to get hooked up. Tune your to 1000 AM and listen to whatever goodness you got plugged in. My phone has an FM radio on it, or I can plug in my iPod or whatever. Works great.

Plus, it's cheaper than getting the whole radio rebuilt. ;)

$55 shipped any where in the US.. AM thumb wheel works good. Thats 40 for the radio and 15 for shipping. Steve

i will go with a working am radio and try the redirad as suggested ,great ideas ,very appreciated.....

I had mine converted and has auxiliary jack.

Who installed your aux jack? How is the MP3 connection quality? Thanks
