So a few months ago, I bought this 360 from a guy I have been buying parts from my whole life. So when I picked it up, I didn't bother running any numbers or anything, because he has never steered me wrong before. Well, the machine shop calls today and tells me its of course a 318. So, now i am going to attempt to build a fairly stout 318 for my demon. Here is whats taking place so far....

Block punched out .040 over
Flat top pistons
Possible zero decking(does it give any kind of a large advantage?)
Heads to be fitted with 2.02 intake valves and possibley some mild porting

Then, i have to try to find a good cam, intake, and carb combo to get as much as i can out of this engine. I read an article one time where they were able to pull 415Hp from a 318 @ 6200rpm i think it was. If anybody has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear em!

Why not tell the guy you got it from? Maybe he gave you the wrong engine by mistake? I would let him know before ya dump money into something you might not be happy with.
Good Luck.

I agree if you've been buying parts from this guy for so long He'd be stupid to do something to lose you as a customer . Couldn't hurt to talk it over with him and see if He'll do what's necesarry to correct the situation. Good Luck !
