Hey guys, I have this ticking sound coming from the back of the motor around the BellHouse. Its always there whether I rev up the engine or just let it idle....If the motor is running I can actually feel it in the bellhousing/tranny area if I put my hand on it...I have been told it might be a cracked flex plate? Does this sound like it makes sense?
Its just a Mild 318 with a 904 behind it....
Thanks
Brad

Check your torque converter bolts. You may have one that's loosened up?

One vote for splash/dust shield, mine was slightly tweaked and the converter bolts would touch it as they passed by. Does the noise change at all when the car is in gear?

Doesn't seem to change when in gear, I have to get it in the air and take a closer look...Hopefully Its just a bent cover or something, I would think if the flex plate was cracked it would have broke by now....
