Ok I am getting ready to replace both the inner and outer tie rod ends on my 65 Barracuda. Drivers side outer is bad it was just as cheap to buy one as all four so I figure why not. Does anyone have any suggestions hints or otherwise to get this done easily? seems to be pretty straight forward mark existing spot remove from spindle and the pitman loosen lock ring and unscrew. Screw new ones back to roughly same point as old ones. Sounds about right?

sounds good. a flat blade screw driver in the collar slot with a twist after loosening the clamps makes them easier to unscrew

If you are going to do all four you might want to consider investing in the solid collers from some one like PST. If you really want to do it up get C-body ends with the 11/16" thread and the sold collers.

Just count the number of turns it takes to unscrew, then same to re-screw back; will ballpark it.
