Timing cover/water pump bolts

Are the bolts the same length when switching from the old style iron water pump to the new style aluminum water pump?

Or do I have to get new bolts? And does anyone have a set of bolts for the aluminum water pump?

You only need about 7/16 of thread past the cover into the block, the block ain't very thick.

for all you 340/360 guys who have used much longer than that on the 2nd from top drivers side know what I'm talking about.=cracked cylinder wall.

stack the pump on the cover and stick a bolt through to see how far it sticks out.
