Timing for a 273

I have a 69 273 and was wondering what is the maximum amount of timing others have ran ? It is a two barrel , electronic ignition conversion with orange box, and duel exhaust, runs and excellent ,I advanced it to 14 degrees and it does not ping but I am wondering if it has more in it, my car is a great reliable street cruiser but just lacking some power, if I power brake it it will not even brake the tires loose. Input would be a great help, I also was thinking that maybe the vaccum advance is not working.( I will check that this weekend)

Without limiting the total in the distributor I would say on what you have in the 12-15 degree range should be about fine and maxed buddy

Is it normal for a 273 to not make enough power to spin the tire when power braked? This is my first mopar, I understand the 273's are duds but this is worse than a 289 ford lol

With stock gears and a stock low compression 273, you will not make much low rpm torque. So yes, its normal.

Your timing sounds fine as is.
