Has anyone tried using tint over the Coke bottle green glass? I've been thinking that using my factory tinted glass is really going to limit my paint color choices. I'm not suggesting black limo tint, but maybe a medium tint like the manufacturers use on windows nowadays. Looking at them by themselves it wasn't too obvious, but after sitting them next to clear glass they are definitely green. I'd hate to reinstall these factory windows, paint the car, hate it, rip them out, and then install clear ones.

I worked/retired at a Chrysler(McGraw glass in Detroit) glass plant and your tinted glass is in reality only .06% tint. Yeah, sitting next to clear glass you can see the difference, but in the car around colors you will never notice the difference. BUT you WILL feel the difference between clear and tinted. I have tinted all my "tint" glass several different colors of film and the green (iron in the glass) does not affect or markedly change the effective color of the tint . I am trying to find the light brown window tint right now for a friends cream colored convertible. (not mopar but a chevy but same glass definition and NOT the ugly mirrored brown tint film) his vent windows are clear and all his other glass is "tinted". The tint he has on it now a very light tint used as a UV only film that is pretty much clear. You can not tell the different in glass between the vents and side glass at all.

My Barracuda has full tint green glass. I put 20% on the sides and rear in the 80’s with a strip across the windshield in the dark color, it was right back then. Stripped it all on resto and the green looks fine with B7. It is only a matter of opinion! Do what looks and feels right to you, only thing that matters is what makes you happy!

So as i was thinking about paint for the barracuda i was contemplating a stripe. And running a stripe tint in the back window. Have always liked the bronze color tint.

Do what makes you happy! It is your car and your personality and that is all that matters
