TIPS on polishing console chrome needed

I want to shine-up the console top chrome plate, any suggestions? I don't have to worry about the woodgrain since i'm replacing it. Thanks

for chrome over metal pieces, I use a mild rubbing compound or a cleaner wax. I use the 3M machine rubbing compound because I have it and when using it by hand it is pretty mild but still works well.
