On a 2015 dodge Durango with 2 wheel drive and 118" wheels can I use snow chains or snow cables?? The owners manual does not address it,and the DEALER could not tell me.

if the municipality you are driving in allows it, I don't see why not

Don't understand your answer?? Looking to buy, need to know cables/chains??

Assuming you have stock tires go to your favorite chain suppliers webpage and see what options they offer.

I always used chains but have cable for all my cars now, I live in CO haven't used them once.

Think you can use either, cables are easier to install and probably do less damage to roadway.

For maximum life - chains.

For maximum traction - chains with cross lugs.

Studded snow tires are also really good in a lot of situations.

I tried cables when they first came out as a young man in Alaska.

Shredded in two short trips & banging the quarters of my '75 Dart with the loose ends.

I figured the cables were easier to install. I stand corrected. here in manitoba winter tires are enough. Its flat here, and i have never seen anyone use chains.
studded tires are popular with 2wd’s.
My plow truck, just 4wd and all season tires.

Go to the Les Schwab store on McHenry Ave there in Escalon, they'll have what you need. If you don't use them, they will take them back and refund your money. Keep the receipt. Great customer service and the chains/cables are good.

Dang they make chains or cables for that 118” wheel size. Just kidding.

Move south not an issue. Not kidding.

I know Les Schwab will take the change back in the spring if you don't break the seal but honestly I think Walmart does to... I've got to 98 Durangos and both are four-wheel drives though and do absolutely phenomenal in the snow...
1 Durango I bought for $1250, great winter rig...

Have you tried studded snows with a couple 100 lbs in the back?

Me too; two sets of wheels and tires, studded snows for winter allowed from end of October to end of April. Been giving them a workout this past week with snow and ice, and so far the wife is saying they work great! I had the local tire-shop install, 4 topline dedicated snow tires; NOT mud and snows
Shameless plug for our local shop;
Our local guys have the stock, the knowledge, the expertise, and the decades of experience; I know cuz I used to work for them, and most of the staff has been there for up to 20 years and some more. And they still give me the family discount, lol.

Thanks for all your ideas. Kids just bought property in reno(at 6000 ft) if we go in the winter snow is a BIG possibility that is the reason for the chain/cable delema. Some vehicles say chain or cable That is my reason for asking for help(ideas).
