I am building 1974 Dart Bracket car for my wife. I am planning on an 8-3/4 rearend, moving the springs under the frame with a kit. Anybody have an idea what the biggest tire that will fit in the hole with out tubbing it or blowing out the fender well. I have a set of 30X10.5X15 that i am planning on using. I have been told that they should fit and I have been told that there is now way. I don't have the rear end yet so I cannot go out and play even. Just looking for some ideas and for what others have under their wheel wells.

No mods to the tubs as in mini tubbing?

You might as well do it the easy way, move the spring over using an offset mount/perch/shackle kit. Unless you plan on mini-tubbing later a spring relocation kit is not necessary.

You might be able to get a set of 28x10.50 under it without any tub work. I doubt you get a 30" tire under the car unless you seriously stinkbug it, way up in the back. 28" is about the max tire height without moving the rear back, or trimming the front wheel lip.
 
not exactly sure what the difference is between mini tubbing and tubbing. this is a Dart Swinger not a sport. I really don't want to do anything that I don't need to do, MONEY being the main reason(Surprise, Surprise). I got the tires slightly used, 10 runs on them for only 50.00 for the pair. If I can figure out how to make it work I would love it. If not I will give back the tires and get some smaller ones.
 

Just stick the tire in the wheel tub to see if it'll fit. As mentioned above, the 30" diameter will probably be the biggest problem. If it fits in the tub then you can probably get by with the offset spring hanger kit. Mancini's has it with a free set of spring perches for about $160 the last time I checked. You can move the rear axle back some at the same time by drilling new locating holes in the spring plates & perches (if the extra holes aren't already in the perches). Then, once you have the rear axle, you can determine what offset you'll need on the wheels to center the tires side to side in the tubs. You might need a custom offset on the wheel, but you'll have to have the complete rear axle in the car to be sure.
