Need help and some experience guidance.

The car 1969 dart gt.
Low deck max wedge, tkx 5sp first gear 2.87. S60 With 3.73 and caltrac. I do not have min tub. And a set of 15"" race rims

Question trying to figure this out. The best suitable slick to run underneath this a body beast to hook

15x8 4.5 bs.. 29 are not to tall

Stock spring locations?

You’ll only have about 11” from quarter lip to the springs. Sounds like race only for this set but you still need enough room for the sidewall to flex so even if you space it perfect your section width is gonna have to be no more than 10.5”. For the street or anything not in a straight line more like 10” -10.25”.

If there’s no tub work I don’t know that I’d go much taller than 28” on a Dart unless you want to play around with the wheelbase to fine tune your tire clearance to the front and rear corners of the wheel openings.

Not sure how wide your S60 is but a wheel mounting surface to spring measurement would go a long way to figure out if the 4.5” backspace will work.

The only modifications was done was a 1/8 plate in front of the spring hanger. The strange S60 and springs are in all stock locaton and widths

Now, is that between the hanger and the frame where the hanger mounts or in front of the frame where the nuts go? 1/8" is splittin hairs, I know, but sometimes things can get tight on these cars. Either way, that's a good idea for reinforcement.

This is what have for my cruiser wheels 15x8 and 4.5bs with 245 60 15.

Ok, so that’s helpful. Looks like the wheel is centered pretty well with that backspace. A Cooper 245/60/15 has a section of only 9.5” on a 7” wide rim, so yours probably measure a bit wider than that at the section on 8’s. For race only I’d say you can use about half the extra clearance you’ve got there, so yeah, keep the section width under 10.5” for whatever slicks you want.

Your 245’s are only 26.5” tall, you can see how tight they are to the front of the wheel openings. I don’t think you have more than a 1/2” to give there, which only gets you to 27.5” tall, maybe. You’d have to move the axle back to do 28’s IMO, but I’m just looking at pictures.

8.5x26 real slicks (drag radials don't like stick shift cars), either Hoosier or M/T.
9x28 would be better. Will they fit? I kinda doubt it, without moving the axle back. (My car has the axle moved back an inch, via super stock spring hangers.)
