id like to know what size tires (26-28") and rear gears everyone is using. what kinda rpms does it run at say 60 mph?
i trying to decide between 26 or 28" tires. im running a 4 spd and a 391 rear. im thinking 26" (295 50 15) may be too small but 28"(325 50 15) i may have clearance issues. what do you think?
btw these are 10" outlaws

You could always run a 275 60 15,they look really good on a 8 inch rim and are 28" tall.I would want to run a taller tire with that gear myself otherwise it would be a real pain on the freeway. With that tire I think at 60 your around 3,000 rpm with a four speed-at least thats what I remember.

also found some 29.5" that are about 1" narrower. too tall for a car? i dont want to look like a truck!

I ran 295 65 15 (29.5 tall) mt et drag radials on my 69 pontiac lemans and I dont think it would fit well on an a-body unless it was tubbed-probaly would fit alright on a b-body.It is pretty tall and regardless of the specs it has definite sidewall buldge.

I'm running 25-26 (P205/70R14 front, P245/60R14 rear) with a Dana 4:10 in my 440 GTS and parkway driving is horrible.

My solution though is to drop my ratio to 3:55's

I'm running 325/50-15 M&H (28x12.3x15) with 323 gears. I will one day go to 3.55 but I love it on the highway. My leaf springs are moved in and the fender in just rolled a little, no tubbing and they fit beatifully. The pics are with M/T's 28x12.5x15's.
Peace

I`m running 255/60-15`s that are 27.5 in. tall with 3.91 gears and a 4spd.. My bb at 60 mph is about 3200 rpm. I`m happy with the acceleration but not the cruising. I`m thinking of going with a 5spd. trans so I can do some cruising without sacrificing the acceleration. It`s a bit of a balancing act to try and get the whole package.
