I have a thread in here about what size tire to put under my 68 dart. If any one has pics of 255/60r15's on 15x7's or 8's ,without any fender, spring mods. Please post pics!! I want o make sure they will fit before I buy the tires and have them mounted. Thank you all !!!!!!!

i don't think there is any way it will fit with a stock setup. i have a 74 swinger (72 clone) and had 15x7 steelies and dog dishes i had more mroe room then i now have since i put 15x8's with 5.5 BS and I run a 245/60/15 BFG. My car has the leaf springs relocated to the frame rails. I have about 3/4 inch clearance from tire to inside lip of quarter and about a 1/2 from the back side of the tire until i hit the inner fender wells. i plan on moving those flush with the frame rail at some point. these are the best photos i can find at this point. hope this helps.

245/60/15 on a 15 x 7 wheel is all you'll get unless you move the springs inward. Unless you want the tires to rub.

Your about the 3 rd. member to tell me a 245, so I guess that will be my choice. Thank you for your reply and your pics. Beautiful 69 swinger!!! That was my high school car !!! Mine was creamy yellow n black stripe.

255/60-15s on the back of my '69. Rims are 15x7 with 4 1/4" backspace. They will fit with about 1/2 - 3/4" clearance all around and they will rub just a little on the inner wheelhousing on my 'vert if I am making a turn uphill. It could be because of the springs on the car.
