Dreary and icky not a 'visually pleasing' day although the sun came out briefly in time for lunch. Drove up to Priest Lake this morning and hauled home 3 more (yeah, stupid) outboards. 58 model on clamp says it's a 59 Johnson 75hp but the gearbox/ prop looks more like 50---they are lower geared and carry a huge prop. Second is junker locked up 62-ish Evinrude 35hp which has a few good parts, and last is a 71 Evinrude 25hp. This will make the largest 'tiller' outboard I own, and since this is the earlier design, can be easily run either as tiller or remote with really, no changes

That’s quite a haul Del. I always enjoy these “boat” threads of yours. Hopefully you can get one (or all) of these engines going, mount them on your little boat and get us some pics of you out running them on the lake. Keep us posted!!

I've got several up and running. One "diamond in the rough" was a long shaft 75 I paid FIFTY BUCKS for. Needed the carb cleaned, the ignition diddled with (these V4's use a separate mag like a tractor, or later ones before breakerless use a distributor that looks like 'part of' the mag--well in fact you can see it in the top pic. Here's my only youtube video lolol It also really needs gearbox seals, but it didn't leak enough that it was ok for a 'short summer' in the water.

I've had it on the old 14ft, but this outboard is long shaft, the boat is short and I didn't have a jack plate at the time, so I had to be REALLY careful handling it, as the prop is way too deep and has way too much leverage on the boat.
