Good morning, I am just wondering if a torque converter off my 727 will fit in a manual trans bell housing. I want to install the engine and manual bell housing in the car for engine break in, then pull it out, replace valve springs, etc outside newly painted chassis, then install engine and 727. I can borrow a friends bellhousing, i am just trying to make it easier to install and remove engine without scratching or messing wverythi g up. Thanks for any advice on this.

uhh. maybe?

i'd be more concerned about a big *** torque converter flying around without any support just off some flex plate bolts. that just might wobble out all them weebles and then things get round and brown in a hurry.

that's if you can even get the starter to engage. who knows if the critical distance to the ring gear is that same (edit: it *probably* is)

why not track down a flywheel that would be proper for the bell? it'd be a helluva lot saner and safer. or just build a start cart.
