Hi all, I have a Factory High stall torque converter that came with the transmission I put into the dartness. I may be building it, or something a little more 63'ish ;) with a hot 318.
The issue though, is that it came off a 360, so it has the external balance counterweights. I wondered this: Is there any good reason I can't Take a grinder to the counterweights, and very carefully (so as to not mar the TC case) grind them off? is it still not going to be properly balanced for use on a 318? I have the flexplate that fits it too, so that's not going to be an issue. Will it weaken the case and possibly cause failure?
