It is not uncommon to see people complaining about the factory welds which hold our Mopars together. The torsion bar socket and crossmember is no exception. A quick search reveals multiple people complaining about this problem area. Stock torsion bars are hard enough on the area, but adding bigger torsion bars escalates the problem and makes the weld joint more prone to failing.
These plates are a fairly simply install for anyone with a welder. Clean the metal around the torsion bar sockets to allow for good welding. Slip these over the torsion bar socket, clamp in place and weld away. These allow more weld surface between the torsion bar socket and crossmember sheetmetal, while at the same time distributing the load to a great area on the crossmember.
They are CNC cut out of 1/8" cold rolled steel, and sold in pairs. $25/pair. Please email or message me with any questions or comments.
