Anyone have experience with an Eaton TrueTrac or Trac-Lok for street/strip use. Which one is the better choice.

The Trac Lok is a POS. It has a weak spring design. They will easily bias one wheel to the other. The True Trac is a much better choice between the two.

Power locks are very strong and hold well. The trac lock is ok for a mild street car or truck but is by no means a racing part. The true track have good reviews by people with big power and manual trans. I like the power lock as they are available at a reasonable price and easily rebuilt. I have not tried the true track but would like to.

Spicer/Dana Powr-Lok is a great unit. Has 4 pinion gears, replaceable clutches, and can be shimmed to adjust preload. Only thing better would be to score an (out of production) Detroit Locker. You give up some street manners with a DL but it WILL put power to both on the launch.

No I would say the Power Lock is not better than the true trac, just different.
