Does the track width differ front to rear on a 72 Dart? Front looks wider when driving behind it

Yes, front track is wider. That is the case for all A-bodies ‘67 and later.

Front track for '66 and earlier was ~55.9"
Front for '67-'72 was ~57.4"
Front for '73-'76 was ~59.1" (due to disc brakes)
Rear track stayed consistent at about 55.6", with minor variations depending on the rear end- 7.25, 8.25, or 8.75
