tranny filter

OK so I got a new deep tranny pan and it came with a filter extension.And not instructions so how do I do it.It is a 73 duster /6 with a904.

take the pan off, remove the filter, install spacer gasket between the spacer and valve body , feed the screws up through the new filter / spacer/ gasket to valve body. tighten. then add the new pan and gasket. do not overtighten the pan bolts. you will need an extra quart of fluid

 

[412 Stroker]

Make sure you put the extended pickup and filter back on exactly like they came off, I do beleve you can out them back on 180 out and then the hole won't line up for the pickup. just an fyi.

 

[Dart Sport 360]

It should only line up and bolt on one way since the holes in the spacer/filter are not symmetrical...

As stated above, make sure that gasket is between the spacer and the valve body!!!! Ask me how I know.........
