Since I have owned the car, a year, the Valiant wont hit kickdown at highway speed. But as far as I know it will at slower speeds i think around 30 mph. It will work doing it manually. I know you can burn up a tranny if it isn't working right so how do I adjust it? Thanks.

I've basically adjusted mine 'how i wanted it' since I've had my car. New trans has been in about 2 years or so. You might be able to kick it down if you adjust the k/d linkage to push the lever on the trans a little further back. However that will also change your shift timing...so tinker accordingly..
