I am ready to hook up my shifter cable on my 66 Dart. I have a 360, 904 trans, TTI headers and using a hurst pro-matic shifter. Shifter is already mounted in a permanent location. I was wondering what routing methods for the cable others have used with aftermarket shifters. What length was your cable. It looks like this is going to be a real challenge I was going to put my trans lines on but after looking it seems I need to do this first otherwise I wont have room to get to it! Pics would be great as well. Thanks

rod, though these photos are of a Slant Six it still is a 904 tranny. I like to route the cable to the passenger side and around the bell to the cable bracket. It keeps it tight to the tranny and away from headers.See the red cable. Hope it helps

I have a 65 dart slant console shift. it is outside and getting cold again. I will eventually run the cables from the tranny up thru the floor in original location. I will get some pics for you but it will be a while, if needed.
the cables on a floor shift car enter thru the top of the hump an inch or two behind where the floor crimps( trans tunnels) to the firewall extension. if I remember right, there is a clamp on the bottom o f the floor that helps hold the cable from falling down on the exhaust.
the console cables are different length than the pushbutton ones, but don't know the measurements.
