trans planetary

heard somewhere that there is a six pinion planetary for the 727. Anyone know anything about this. Thanks.

Quite a price difference wouldn't you say? Be carefull, it shows as "New", but with a price difference like that somthing is up.

I recently overhauled the 47re in my 96 cummins with that $100.00 aluminum planetary from Witrans. So far it works fine.

don't know that I would put a aluminum planertary in a trans. just me.
 
I much prefer the steel ones too. Although I've heard people say there's not much difference. Kinda hard to swallow that one.
 
Are with the splines stripping on the front planetaries.
The output shaft is driven by the rear annulus which is all steel. The rear planet gears drive the annulus so less of an issue with the rear planetary being aluminum.
But steel is still preferred by some.
