Transmission queston for newbie!

Hello, drain tranny and service manual calls for 4 quarts. Put 4 quarts back in fill hole. my dad said I should fill it until some fluid starts to run out. But after filling with 4 quarts no transmission fluid ever came out of the hole. Should I keep adding until it does or just go with the 4 quarts. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I always fill stick gearboxes and rear axles until "even" with the fill hole.

Although what is funny is on the rear end of my 95 bronco there is a service buletin on filling the rear till about 1/2" below fill plug, i still fill it level with fill plug any way

on level ground, the a833 4 speed takes 4 qts, I think if u stick your pinky in the hole it will be right there and good to go.

4 quarts or until it runs out the hole. I just fill it till it runs out
