I need to get a transmission for my 64 barracuda.
I was looking at the TCI streetfighter or the Hughes street strip.
Anyone have other options or opinions?

Assuming you mean 904 not 727?

Call and talk to John. Nothing but Mopar. I don’t know about Hughes. TCI used to have some issues but that’s been many years ago.

I've had issues with TCI.

Personally I'd go with Hughes or shop around a bit more.

Last, seriously consider a GVOD.

You are aware of the torque convertor, shift linkage, and ball and trunion driveshaft issues for '64s when you change out the trans, right?
