I always thought it was strange that overhaul kits did not include the low/reverse bands. This includes the B&M kit I used in the early 80's.

I think it's because there are a few different styles of them. Just like the kick down band.
The rear band is only used in manual low and reverse. It gets very little use compared to the kd band. Kim
I use them a lot. Always online ordering, so, I've not talked to a real person. The parts are the same stuff you would get from a "regular trans shop". Those Alto silvers are great for stock to mild.
All the 727's I've built needed the LR band so had to source it. Just was odd to me.
Yes, that is odd. I would say I only replace less than 25% and most of that is when I do a real high performance build. Maybe 1 out of every 10 stock builds. I have built well over 100 727 torque flites and only 25 or so 904s. Overdrives also. Kim
