I am nearing installation of the thirsty one (440/A-833) into the granny car. I have the Schumaker kit with Tri-Y headers. Should I shoehorn this in with headers on or off? I am changing the steering column also, so would that be better done before and if so, when i install the motor should it be with steering shaft on or off? (power steering)

On my 71 Scamp, Do not mount them, when you slide them in, it was better for me to put the drivers side header down in when I dropping the motor in. I have done this 2 times now. Check to make sure you grinded the one lug off the block that Schmacher mentioned in the instructions. If you are pulling the steering column it will go in a lot easier.

x3 I put mine in, in thirty and that was with the motor in th ehole but deffinatly would put them in before the motor and with the column out
