It's 1/2 off weekend at pick-n-pull and I found an 8 3/4 rear drum to drum in a 74 pickup in Stockton CA. I know it needs to be shortened. I was planning on doing that anyway. its only $60 drum to drum with center section (741). Its actually cheaper with the center chunk and axles than without it. go figure. If I go back and get this, would I be able to use the brakes? Do these trucks have a 5x4.5 BP? If I just get the housing, it's $30. What do you guys think I should do? I'm going back tomorrow to pick up the whole shebang for $60. I would have gotten it today, but I didn't have my tools, and I would have needed an extra hand to keep my backin one piece. THANKS for suggestions!!!!

Sounds like a good deal. And I would go for it. Is it in a 2 wheel drive or 4x4. The 2x4 had the 4.5 on 5 bolt patteren and the 4x4 had I think 5 on 5 bp.

Its a 2 wheel drive with a 360 auto trans. It looked like a 4.5 bolt pattern, but I didn't have a tape measure. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
