Trying to find my 1st car

Was wondering if you guys knew how to track down a ar you user to own. I still have a license plate from it but I don't know really where to look

start with the vin number. licence plates get reassigned if not used, so it's kinda a crap shoot from there.

How? My insurance company doesn't have the record and it was registered under my dads name. Wud the DMV allow release of the vin?

you need to find something with the vin # like an old registration or insurance card if not there is no way to track it

DMV is not going to release any info even if you have a VIN,

there are ways ,,,i dont know them but,, guys buy classic cars and do a history search all the way back to its orignal buyer and dealer ship that sold it,,,it is possible,,,just dont know how they do it
