Freshening motor and trans up and decided to go with the 1 7/8 race headers from TTi.. Right now I'm running tti step headers.. Approximately how many hp gain you think they should make?

Saw an article that showed going from their 3" to 3.5" collector made more power. So unless you did that, doubt you're going to see much difference.

There are a lot of "it depends" on whether or not 1 7/8" will make more power than the 1 5/8- 1 3/4' step. In some cases the bigger headers may make more peak HP, but be outrun by the smaller headers because the smaller headers may provide a better/fatter torque/HP curve which can accelerate the car faster. The lighter the car and/or the bigger/wilder the engine/converter/gear, bigger headers may help. Can't give a blanket answer.

Personally, I have an IHRA Stock class 360 weighing 3,540+ running low 11"s in the 1/4 and very low 7's in the 1/8 mile using the TTI 1 5/8"-1 3/4" step. They are pretty versatile and being a little conservative often provides better results than being a little too big. Same applies for carbs, cams, etc.
