OK stock 67 Barracuda original drum brakes
Doing a front end overhaul including bushings.

So I am doing one side at a time and have the passenger side out.
On the upper control arm on the inside of the arm on the backside where the bushing is pressed in, there is/was an extra "ring" that seemed only to continue holding the outside of the bushing.

My question is do I even need this?
I guess I'm missing the purpose of it.
What do you think?

Thanks,
Jeff

I left mine off and ran it for many many years.

According to the service manual, that sleeve, PN.1857840, was used on A Bodies with 10" drum brakes and B Bodies, used as Taxis and cop cars.
