undercoat removal

What is the best method to remove original undercoating? Atleast I think it is original.It is about 1/32 thick and a heat gun is slow goinr should I use a stripper or just keep at it.Sanding works but very messy.

I have asked the same questions and it seems like the concesus on the site is a propane torch and a scraper. When your done with the big stuff, go to a wire wheel on an angle grinder. Some of the guys on this site have done a real nice job doing it this way. I'm sure its a *****, but I dont have any other ideas.

Thanks 71dartguy ,as you said the propane torch worked great ,much faster and cleaner.
