This is by far the worst case of detonation I've ever seen...it's a 10 to 1 Buick 401 nail head...
Just because you can't hear it rattle doesn't mean there's no detonation.This engine has 7000 miles on it and has been knocking ever since he put it in.
He ran that shitty blue 80-100 no lead av gas...
I kept telling him to bring it by and I'd tune it for him but I guess he figured how hard is it to get the tune up in an old nailhead engine...
It's too bad as this engine was a really nice piece...Balanced/blueprinted..nice ported heads and a camshaft from Buick's Are Us or what ever it's called.
This time around it's going to get some custom forged pistons from JE and a custom ground camshaft.
