Dropped my 69 Valiant off at the auto shop near my work for an inspection, since it was convenient and good to get an extra set of eyes. One thing I had not checked was the brakes, since they stop fine. I did notice the pedal slowly sink to the floor while stopped at a light.

Turns out the wheel cylinder on the drivers side front is leaking and the adjuster spring/cable is busted on the passenger side front.

Sadly, they wanted $600 to fix this, and replace the shoes/resurface the drum. :wack:

I'm not too familiar with brakes but the price seemed high, and I got the impression that the mechanics weren't thrilled about working on an old car.

After some part shopping, and with the help of my brother, who is certified in brakes, we should be saving nearly $500. Plus I get to hopefully learn about this by seeing it in action.
