Upper ball joint boot installation

This may be an extremely stupid question, but it needs to be asked! My new ball joint's boot is being really stubborn to put on. Any tips? Heat it up maybe?

I had a lot of trouble doing the same thing. I eventually got it on by taking a piece of PVC pie, cutting a slit in it so it would open up a bit, and then tapping the boot on with it.
