Could someone tell me the difference from US built and Canadian built cars. It seems my 71 dodge dart swinger was built up north in Canada. I was tell a friend about my rear end and was explaining that I have a 8.75 rear end but it has a 4 inch bolt pattern and I was under the impression that it should have the 4.5 bolt pattern. He asked me if it was built in canada and I told him that it was, I had read that when I checked my vin# when I got the car. He told me that other things would be different too. Does anyone know what other differences I might run across or why? Why would there be any difference in the rear end? it is a 741, 8.75 I know it's the smaller of the 3 different 8.75 rears. thanks

i dont think the bolt pattern has anything to do with where it was made, as far as i know....My 8-3/4 abody rear had a 5x4 inch bolt pattern....as far as i know, all a-body 8-3/4's had the small bolt pattern...The B, E, C body 8-3/4's had big bolt pattern axles (4.5)

Chrysler used the 4" bolt circle in most, if not all, A bodies no matter where they were make until 71 when they started switching to 4 1/2".

The switch to 4.5" was in '73 although /6 cars with drums all around still got the 4" SBP. Location of manufacture has NOTHING to do with it.

I think there may be a difference in the way options were packaged together, and perhaps trim etc. Otherwise the same car...

I just thought that was an odd thing so I wanted to ask. thanks for the reply.
