Cleaning out the garage I found 3 used sets of reusable (rubber over steel core)valve cover gaskets for small block chrysler. My question is should these be ok to use on my 273? I've never had much luck with the cork gaskets that come in the gasket sets.
Thanks
Aaron

I'm not a fan of reused gaskets but if there all you have then ok. at lest on valve covers. well cleaned and good coat of permatex black snug up and let dry then tighten ,do not over tighten it will be fine.

I would try them; valve cover gaskets are easy to change if they go bad; things like oil pan gaskets and head/intake gaskets should never be reused unless its a newer car with O ring gaskets

Yep used reusable gaskets. Don't know why my brother has 3 sets, he never throws anything away. When I cleaned the garage out I found 5 old used power steering pumps. He used to run a 340 in modified stock car.
