I bought these ladder bars 14 years ago. I would believe that they are stronger than the ones they sell today, everything is made as cheaply as possible these days. I wire wheeled them to bare metal and sanded them, then hand brushed the oil based primer with 2 thick coats of "rusty metal primer" by Rust-Oleum:

Then I sprayed them with Rust-Oleum Bright Yellow, which it took a lot of coats to cover the red rust primer! I waited between coats like it said. Half way through I let them dry overnight, then sprayed some more. I am going to cover the inside of the one on the left with the same primer today. Just got them out and noticed it had chipped. I will just cover the bare metal with 2 coats of the primer after wire wheeling and sanding.

The retail for $79.50 on Summit:

Ill take $45.00 +Ship

How is the rubber on the snubbers?

I'll take some pics for you in the sun

LOL. Well, my camera won't upload to the computer anymore for some reason. I think the cable connector is getting oxidized. I need to get another one before I can upload the photos I got. But the top 98% is in great shape, there are minor cracks at the very bottom where it connects to the ladder bar. I got the pictures, I will post them tomorrow after I buy a new cable. It is a Canon camera, not very old, pretty nice, it should be the cable. I would say the snubs are good to go. But you can get new snubs here on Summit if you want to:
