V8 acc. cable and pedal assy.?

I am installing a V8 acc. pedal and brackets in my 66 Dart and I have 2 questions.
1. What holds the pin in the pedal assy.? I have the pin but there is no clip of any kind. Is it just a press fit?
2. The piece of the bracket assy. that mounts on the engine compartment side of the firewall, Does it need a gasket? I only got a gasket for the inside with it.

It sounds like the same pedal assembly as my 65 Barracuda but I thought they were different. Anyway, if it is like mine, the pin should have a spring clip attached to the head and when it’s pushed it locks into the floor bracket. If you use it without the clip the pedal will occasionally come loose from the bracket (my carpet installer broke one side clip off, and it never worked after that). I got a replacement from the Junk Yard but Early A’s getting very hard to locate these days.
