Have a nice SB aluminum V8 bellhousing casting # 3633728 with a production date of 1978. Not sure what it's for but the bearing hole is 5-1/16" and it uses an 11" clutch. Was told it is for an OD trans but I don't know if that's true. If anyone has any positive info on what it fits I'd sure appreciate hearing it.

Not sure what to ask but I have to put some price on it so lets start it off at $65 plus shipping OBO or your welcome to pick it up here free. Located half way between St. Louis MO and Springfield IL 3 miles off I-55

PM if interested.

Pictures added. When I was taking the pics I noticed one of the large bolt holes has stripped threads. Sorry I didn't notice it earlier. I have added OBO to the price cause I know the stripped thread lowers the value some.

Had someone that was interested in the bellhousing and he thinks the casting # is really 3893728 and since the casting # wasn't stamped good it's very possible that that's the correct #. According to Brewers website it fits a truck with the NP435 trans. Rustyratrod also said it's a NP435 bell so that's what I'm advertising it as now. Upon closer inspection when I was taking pics I noticed it has one of the trans mounting holes stripped out so it'll need a heli-coil. All other threads are good.

Price is lowered to $40 obo plus shipping

so this is a big block to 435 bellhousing?
if so consider it sold and youre real close to me so i could just come pick it up if thats ok with you.

so will this work for a small block car OD 4 speed?

No, only the NP435 truck transmission (the one with the granny low 1st gear). It's a big ugly top loader. It will not fit the A833 OD "car" transmission, although that also came in small trucks with the longer B/E body style tailshaft.

If your transmission looks like this, then this bell is for you...:D

Sorry for the intrusion, just wanted to clear that up. Good luck with the sale!

No problem Brian, I appreciate the help... I just looked close at that picture and apparently the NP435 uses the very most upper and very most lower holes in the bell. Those threads are good in mine. The thread that is stripped on this bell is in the center so it won't affect using it with a NP435. Makes me wonder if this bell might also accept another trans since it has 2 sets of holes??? Just a thought

Can you figure a total to 31217? I think I want to get it to put back for the rat truck. I don't expect the OD to live very long. It may surprise me, but I would rather be ready.

Ok Rob. I'll try tomorrow but I got a ton to do tomorrow so it might be tuesday before I get a chance. Will PM you by tuesday evening for sure

I'd like a second in line shot at this. I just need something to bolt a starter to for my run stand. Thanks to 98662
