My 74 Dart 318 donor car had a points type distributor in it .

I have no clue as to age of distributor.

It shows to be a refurbished one and there are no stamped identifying numbers that I can see. Looks like sandblasting cleaned them off, if there were any to begin with.

The vacuum advance leaks by, so I purchased an advance from NAPA, # VC3031, but there is a difference on the connecting arm-orientation to advance plate as shown by photos.

Can anybody possibly I.D. what I have so I can find a correct vacuum advance?

Thanks FABO!!

Your car 74 originally had electronic ignition. The vacuum cans for points and electronic are different. Take it back and get a can for a 70 points dizzy.

Thank you mderoy340!

I was initially suspicious ordering the vac advance not knowing the year of distributor & obviously I was in err!!

Upon further examination of pics on Napa's site, the '70 year model looks correct!

On Napa's site, they show to have two listings and reference to a # on the dizzy for correct application but all evidence is gone, any insight as to what the difference is..?
