I pulled my intake to blast it so I figured while i was there i'd pull the crappy looking valley pan and replace it also. It's for a 440 so i need a RB. So looking at summit i see two different ones for $25.75 and $31.99 and don't see any difference. Are there any diferences in a valley pan or is a pan a pan? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-1215/applications/year/1968

Also I've been thinking about painting it. Is there anything wrong with doing that? Thanks

The thing I see is the brand. The more expensive one is Sealed Power, the other is Fel-Pro. I like Fel-Pro, personally, but really can't give you feedback on Sealed Power as I don't have experience with their gaskets.

As far as painting? Don't believe it makes much of a difference. The pan saw it's share of paint from the factory as the engine was painted.
