value of a 383 bb?

I just purchased some parts-- included was a 1968 383 short block
2468138-LL
d383 4 17 on the pad in the front

I believe it is a 1968 block from those #'s


I also have 2951250 d28 heads which are 440 heads from 1968? is it possible those heads came from the 383?

I also have a mid 70's 440-- (my friend has 1st dibs )

basically I bought a collection of stuff,
I scored an "a" body 8.25 & quite a few 15 x7 rims(this is why I purchased)
Also 2 318 motors
My question is should I try to find the original owner-- or just let a local guy snap it up? Lawrence

I would think it would be hard to find the original owner.... The VIN of the car would be stamped into the back of the block at the very top. That might be a clue as to what it came out of.
