Valve spring question

Can valve springs lose tension and make a ticking noise?

Did you pull off the valve covers??Are your rockers adjustable?What type of lifters are they,solid,roller,hydrolic??

Ya valve springs can loose their tension/strength but that usually happens from either mega miles or high heat situations or repeated coil binding . Quality springs today are almost indestructble. A little more info needed to help ya out
