I have a 408 stroker and I want to put a comp cams XE275HL cam in. The specs on the cam are 275/287 duration (231/237 @.050) and .525 lift on both. The suggested springs are Comp 995’s. I have Edelbrock aluminum heads and have changed the springs to PAC 901’s. I’d rather not change springs, so I have included a comparison sheet. Will I be OK?

A 1.05 coil bind plus .05 for safety gives you 1.1 minus 1.875 leaves you at a max lift .775 spring rate looks ok to id say yes.

I thought I’d be ok, but just making sure. Don’t wanna botch a new cam
Yea I went with a little lower spring rate just in case if those gave i would remove the inner springs during break in. Just in case. Are those inner springs the flat dampners ? Or actually coil springs

What does the cam grinder recommend? This is above my pay grade, so I always defer cam and related parts questions to Dwayne Porter. I can send his contact into to you if you want a professional opinion.
