I may end up making a deal on a car. It is a driver. Perfect for me. Don’t want show. But one of the pics shows the rad support and the numbers are definitely not in order. I think. Anybody seen anything like this? Could you order a 340 in a plain GT? It looks have a P as the designation. It is supposed to be a 273 car but I can’t make that work any way in this pic. Sorry it’s not perfect. I’ll have better pics later.

Not sure yet. Just a weird stamp. Doesn’t appear to have 6 numerals at the end either.

OK, I think I answered my own question. In 68 this was different than later years. It is not the VIN, but instead the SO number.

Yes as far as I know 68 doesn't have the vin # but the S.O.# stamped in several places including the rad support. And as well you could only get a 340 in a GTS in the dodge line up

Is that a B = Hamtramck plant?
8= Model year
L= Dart line
A?3??? = six characters of the SO number. The A indicating it was built for sale in Canada.
